Next TEDxTehran is Around the Corner – Good Morning Tehran!
news / / Dec 03, 2016
In less than three weeks, on December 20th, Iran’s largest TEDx event will be held for the fourth year at the grand Vahdat Hall of Tehran.
There are different types of TEDx events from university size, to local communities and even major cities. While all TEDx events are independently organized by different organizing teams, each of these TED-like events has a theme that sets the tone of the event with one overarching question or statement.
For this year, TEDxTehran‘s theme is called “Good Morning Tehran!”, understanding where Iran and Tehran’s innovators, creatives, designers, thinkers and doers are standing at the moment. As the TEDxTehran puts it, “the morning can be an occasion to reconnect with our internal world, to reflect, reevaluate and to change the course of not only of a singular day, but perhaps our entire life.”
This year’s TEDxTehran is a 3 sessions event raising questions, giving answers and inspiring deep conversations about culture, design, innovation, creativity and everyday life of Iranians. What is a TEDx event? In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TED Talks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection.
These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are selforganized. TED is a nonprofit organization devoted to Ideas Worth Spreading, usually in the form of short, powerful talks (18 minutes or fewer) delivered by today’s leading thinkers and doers.
TEDxTehran events are invitationonly events which means all attendees need to apply at www.tedxtehran.com/apply before they can participate in the event.
A free live-cast of the event also will available on the website for online viwers to enjoy some of the worthy ideas of Iran. TEDxTehran speakers have included Leila Araghian, Ramin Sadighi, Sohrab Pournazeri, Mohammadali Inanlou, Alireza Tahmasebzadeh, Bahram Azimi, Dr. Nasser Aghdam and many more.
